My Story
The best way to describe myself is passionate and loyal. My family, friends and clients are my top priority, and I am always there for them. Growing up on the Connecticut shoreline, I loved playing sports and developed a fondness for competition early on. My father instilled a strong work ethic in me and taught me the value of rising to the occasion in times of pressure or adversity. This competitive mentality has been instrumental throughout my career, helping me navigate the challenges of running a business and navigating the market.
My love for finance has always driven me, and I consider myself a lifelong student of the art and science of finance. As a life-long learner, I constantly seek out information and data from the investment world to gain an edge that will benefit my clients. I understand that the world of finance can be intimidating to investors, so I prioritize explaining financial concepts in simple and practical terms. This helps to make the planning process run smoothly and efficiently with my clients.
In 2004, I took a leap of faith by quitting a promising job at a retail bank in Connecticut and moving to New York City to chase my lifelong dream of working in finance. As a recent college graduate struggling to manage my student debt with $2,000 in my bank account, I was a small-town middle-class kid with a vision of making it on Wall Street.
My first job in the city was with a boutique investment firm in Midtown. I made minimum wage to dial the phone all day, connecting brokers with prospects. Along the way, I became registered and was off and running. I worked countless hours, opening accounts for my senior partners and building my own business. The sales side of the business came naturally to me, the real challenge was learning about portfolio construction and risk management. It is one thing to study finance but another to manage client assets and deal with all the ups and downs of the market.
Almost twenty years later, I am still in the business I love and have built my own wealth, as I have built, managed, and protected the wealth of my clients and their families. Starting from zero, the strong work ethic and resilience instilled in me as a child served me well and helped me overcome challenges throughout my career.
